1. Objective
This document details the process that will be adopted for selecting candidates for Admission to the Bachelors of Management Studies (BMS) in virtual learning mode at the Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur (IIMS) for the AY 2026-30. IIM Sirmaur adopts a Two-phase selection process for the selection in the BMS in Virtual Learning Mode programme given as under:
2. Phase 1: Qualifying in nature
Candidates must have appeared in one of the following entrance test examination along with the bare minimum cut-off:

Important Points:
Offers of Admission under any category/quota shall be strictly in order of merit in accordance with the selection parameters and composite score obtained by a candidate. Candidates accepting the offer, will be charged Acceptance fee to reserve their seats. Tuition fee, hostel charges, alumni fee, mediclaim fee, refundable caution money and other fee components as per the fee structure shall be charged as per the amount and timelines shared in offer letter.
Candidates who are likely to appear in the XII/HSC or equivalent examination by July 31, 2026, can also apply, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria mentioned above.
The age limit for candidates is a maximum 20 years as on August 1st 2026 (born on or after August 01, 2006) and five-year age relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates (born on or after August 01, 2001).
The Institute reserves the right to change/modify the admission process/criteria. Prospective candidates are advised to monitor the IIM Sirmaur website for the latest updates.
Any misrepresentation or suppression of information by a candidate at any stage during the admissions process or at any later date, will lead to immediate disqualification of the candidate from the programme and the onus of the responsibility and its consequences of misrepresentation or suppression of information lies on the candidate.
Reservations are applicable per Government of India requirement: 27% of the seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the "Non-Creamy" layer (NC-OBC), 15% for Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, up to 10% for Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) and 5% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD).
Admission will be confirmed only when the applicant will submit the marks sheet and the certificate of having passed the marksheets and related certificates. The deadline for submission of any pending marks sheet and the provisional degree certificate is October 30, 2026. All the marksheets and related documents shall be verified in original. Non-fulfillment of the conditions of eligibility for the minimum percentage of marks obtained as applicable will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.
For the purpose of being considered for reservations, the applicable Central Government list as on the last date of application registration shall be binding and the candidates are required to submit the valid documents signed by the competent authority to ascertain the eligibility status to apply under the reserved category (NC-OBC/SC/ST/EWSs/ PwD). The certificate of the claimed reserved category should be valid on the date of registration at the campus.
Canvassing on the part of the applicants or misbehaving with the staff or faculty of the institute in any manner shall lead to his / her disqualification. In case, it is detected at any point of time in future, even after appointment, that the candidate was not eligible, appointment of the candidate shall be liable to termination.
IIM Sirmaur will use the Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) examination 2025 or 2026 conducted by IIM Indore/ IIM Bangalore DBE Entrance Test / IIM Kozhikode BMS Aptitude Test 2026 / IIT JEE Mains 2025 or 2026 / CUET (UG) General Test scores (i.e., only Section III) 2024 or 2025 or 2026 for shortlisting and selecting candidates for our undergraduate Programme(s) in Management. The above mentioned institutions have no role in either the selection process or the conduct of the programme.
All the aspirants should check their emails from ugadmissions@iimsirmaur.ac.in and the IIMS website (https://www.iimsirmaur.ac.in) regularly for updates on Admission related communication & activities.
Applicants intending to appear for the IPMAT entrance exam conducted by IIM Indore or for IIM Bangalore DBE Entrance Test or IIM Kozhikode BMS Aptitude Test or IIT JEE Mains or CUET (UG) must apply/register directly to those institutions before the stipulated deadline given at their respective admission portal. The test fee is payable exclusively to those test conducting institutions. IIM Sirmaur has no role or responsibility in the registration process or fee collection or organisation of those tests.
Any dispute concerning admissions to IIM Sirmaur would be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts within the territorial jurisdiction of the city of Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh only.
